The light soils of the Blewitt Springs sub region of McLaren Vale are renowned for the production of great quality Grenache and this wine is no exception. The grapes have been sourced from a single vineyard of old bush vines to ensure great intensity of flavour and a sense of place. The nose is fragrant and complex. A captivating dustiness provides the backdrop to an array of aromas. Hints of violets, strawberries, herbs and spices are all evident. The palate is medium bodied with soft tannins that linger for a long finish.
A blend of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. The nose is slightly perfumed and intriguing. Subtle hints of almond blossoms, cherries and cinnamon are intermingled against a savoury back drop. The palate is medium bodied with dusty tannins leading to a long dry finish.
A warm year has produced another great shiraz. The nose is powerfully fragrant. Dark fruits (blackberries and plums) are at the fore with hints of dark chocolate and pepper. The palate is full bodied, rich and lush. Soft tannins lead to a warm, dry finish. Ready to drink now, this wine will benefit from 20 plus years in the cellar.
