A blend of 80% Sangiovese and 20% Cabernet Sauvignon. The nose is slightly perfumed and intriguing. Subtle hints of almond blossoms, cherries and cinnamon are intermingled against a savoury back drop. The palate is medium bodied with dusty tannins leading to a long dry finish.

The dominant agent, sangiovese, imparts frisk and edge, galvanising the smaller cabernet component (20%) into a meld of succulent red and dark fruits, alongside a fibrous spindle of herbal grape tannins, a curb of oak and a waft of anise. “Dark and inky red in the glass. Lifted aromas of bramble, mulberry, dark cherry, graphite and spice. Firm, savoury and textured on the palate. There’s a core of blue and black fruits and there’s a touch of mint in there as well. The tannins are quite drying, dusty and grippy and the acidity has punch. Structured and quite sophisticated drinking.
