2023 McLaren Vale Pinot Grigio
2023 McLaren Vale Pinot Grigio
The Baker’s Gully vineyard lies in the foothills of the Mount Lofty Ranges, making it one of the cooler sub regions of McLaren Vale and ideal for the production of quality white wine. A cooler than average summer provided McLaren Vale winemakers with the opportunity to make great quality white wines such as this Pinot Grigio. The nose of this wine is lightly perfumed and has an intriguing complexity with aromas of blossom, lemon zest, almond meal and brioche. The palate is refreshing, crisp and flavoursome. Pear, dried fruits, almonds and cashew nuts all come to mind.

“There’s nice purity to this, with classic pear notes, both Packham and Bosc, and a hint of brown spices. This was
fermented cool in tank, with a short time on lees before bottling. As such, it looks very settled at this early juncture,
flavourful with just enough textural sway and a bright but not brusque finish. A nice wine and very fine value.”
